The first step of installing any body kit is to do a dry fit. This just means that the entire body kit is installed prior to any prep work or paint to ensure correct fitment.
The front bumper bar is installed using the 6 original mounts plus the additional mounts which are discussed in the modifications section. |
At this point you can also attach the adjustment plates to the original crash bar to allow for easy alignment. Details on how this is done can also be found in the modifications section.
This step can be done at a later stage if required. |

|
You will notice that there is a little bit of play in all the mount holes so continually adjust until the lines are where you want them. |

Remember to also install the headlight when checking overall lines and gaps. |

|
The picture to the left shows the visibility of the adjustment plates in relation to the front grille.
As it can be seen they line up with the outer edge of the radiator, but i preferred to paint them black to further hind them from view. |
Mount the rear bumper bar using the 12 original mounts. 4 on each side plus another 2 below each tail light. |

|
As with the front bumper bar there is some play in the mount holes to allow for adjustment. Continually adjust until the lines are where you want them.
The rear did take some time to adjust so that the gap along the boot lid was equal. |

To dry fit the side skirt some additional effort is required as they are not pre-drilled.
The first step will be to carefully install the side skirts and temporarily hold them in place using masking tape as show in the picture to the left. |
With the side skirts held in place using masking tape, open both doors and then mark where the existing mount holes are.
To do this just slightly angle the skirt out until you see the mount hole and make a mark on the fiberglass with a pencil. Every second original mount hole is sufficient.
The next part is to create 3 support brackets per side skirt that will securely hold the skirt to the original factory underbody mounts. |
|
|
Each bracket was made while the side skirts were mounted which is why all of them are labeled. Picture can be seen above.
Each bracket has a hole on end and the screw thread on the other.
The picture to the left shows a support bracket mounted to the side skirt prior to re-fitting to the car. |
The dry fit process is now complete and below are pictures of the complete body kit installed. |
